The China (Hainan) International Winter Trade Fair for Tropical Agricultural Products is the only exhibition of tropical agricultural products in China. It is co-sponsored by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, the All China Federation of Supply and Marketing Cooperatives, and the People's Government of Hainan province, and co-organized by the Hainan Provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs and Haikou Municipal People's Government.
Agricultural and related products such as fruit and vegetables, grains and oil, livestock-related products, red wine, tea, and other items such as agricultural technology and machinery were on display. The trade fair was accessible to professional buyers and also open to the public.
Various events were held during the trade fair, including news conferences, promotional events for Hainan's local products, contract signing ceremonies for online agricultural product purchases and investment, and more.
Taking advantage of the favorable policies of the Hainan Free Trade Port and the island's unique geographical attributes, the trade fair is building a platform for international trade and cooperation in tropical agricultural products. For example, during the 23rd trade fair in 2020, the "Belt and Road Pavilion" showcased high-quality produce from the countries along the Belt and Road, boosting the international trade of tropical agricultural products.
