Location and resources
Changjiang Li autonomous county is located in the west section of northwestern Hainan province, and borders Baisha county to the east, Ledong county to the south, Dongfang city to the southeast, Beibu bay to the northwest and Danzhou to the northeast.
Changjiang Li autonomous county covers an area of 1,617 square kilometers. Its coastline is 63.7 kilometers and its water area covers 5,533 hectares. The county is home to the traditional customs of the Li ethnic group, such as brocade weaving, pottery making and tattooing. It also has many distinctive local cultures including Danzhou drama, Danzhou folk songs, the Li Double Third Day festival and Dragon Boat Races.
The county possesses a convenient transportation network. The total length of its highways is 654.91 kilometers. Meanwhile, the county has the four important fishing ports of Changhua, Haiwei, Xingang, and Shayutang.
