With its unique geographical location and marine resources, Sanya has unique advantages in the development of the yacht industry. In 2021, there were 323 newly registered yachts in Sanya, a year-on-year increase of 202 percent, of which 146 were imported yachts, up 143 percent. The number of yachts in Sanya totaled 945 in 2021 carried over 1 million tourists, a year-on-year increase of 52.1 and 44.55 percent respectively.
Sun Kai, general manager of Sanya Poseidon International Yacht Club, believes that the relaxed policies of imported yachts bring more business opportunities to yacht companies, optimize the supply of yacht products in Sanya, and expand the format of the yacht industry.
Zuo Zhiyong, deputy secretary-general of Sanya Yachting Association, paid more attention to the construction of the entire yacht industrial chain. "The implementation of favorable policies will accelerate the construction, completion and development of the entire Sanya yacht industrial chain," Zuo said.
Sanya's yacht sector is still troubled by instability, fierce competition, and a scarcity of professional personnel. The city should provide a plentiful supply of yacht products, strengthen industry oversight, and establish a single industry standard, consequently increasing the quality of yacht tourism services and encouraging the yacht industry's brand growth.
